Here is William Henry "Harrison in a copy of an 1835 White House portrait by James Reid Lambdin" (Wikipedia). This is would be a portrait before Harrison was nominated for the 1836 Presidential election. Before the election Harrison was in retirement living on his farm in North Bend, Ohio.

In William Henry Harrison's first presidential election he loses, but does have the runner up in votes. The Whig party in this election had multiple candidates running hoping to take electoral votes away from Van Buren allowing the House of Representatives to decide who wins. This still probably would not have worked even if the Electoral votes were closer because the majority of the House were Democrats.

This is a campaign poster for William Henry Harrison in 1836. It has Harrison with a sword which was most likely referring to his military career. For Harrison's campaign he ran all of the free states (states without slavery) except Massachusetts. Harrison also ran in Delaware, Maryland, and Kentucky. William Henry Harrison did not win hardly any of the states he ran in.
