The Indiana Statehouse was built in 1888. Harrison only lived to 1841 so he would not have seen the building get built. Harrison was governor of the Indiana Territory from 1801 to 1812. Harrison's main purpose as governor was to protect settlers from Indian attacks.

Harrison only had the job for one year and then retired until being nominated to run for President of the United States. While in retirement Harrison was making whiskey and after seeing what it did to people stop producing it.
